Vettel confirmed to be out of Ferrari by the end of 2020 at the latest. But if/when we go back to racing, I think I need to make another one of my bold ass predictions ...
Yes, it is highly likely that he sees out 2020 on the grid, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it might end with Vettel not in a Ferrari, especially if he either intentionally upsets LeClerc’s chances at wins or feels underappreciated despite knowing he’s out at the end of the year. Hell, he could even just get really mopey and not try hard enough.
But you know who knows how to drive a Ferrari?
And knows how to get to the factory?
And probably still has everyone’s contact info saved to his phone?
.....Oh yeah, we can all go BWOAH TO THE FUTURE!
I predict Kimi has at least a 50/50 shot of being back in Red for 2020. Not permanently, just until Sainz or whoever comes in. And in the event that Vettel does decide to leave the grid entirely, I could easily see someone like Hulkenberg or one of the rookies who got the short straw for 2020 getting a chance to drive around in an okay car for a few races.

Kimi basically said he hates all the bullshit and now he can just stroll down to the factory in Switzerland where he lives , I don’t think you can get him to go anywhere else.

Presuming the media isn’t just citing Eddie Jordan as the sole source, its looking like:
Sainz to Ferrari
Ricciardo to McLaren
The speculation on the F1
subreddits is rampant, if you want to go full on conspiracy there is the idea Lawrence
Stroll handing Seb a blank check to drive for Aston n
ext year. Then there is Seb and Ricciardo to McLaren and Lando to Indy Car for McLaren. And lastly the always popular Alonso comes back to Renault and the car is blue again!

It wouldn’t be for a long term deal, just for a few races in 2020 in the event Vettel really fucks this up. I predicted his switch to Sauber with LeCLerc on the idea that in case CHarles wasn’t ready, Ferrari probably had some kind of retainer clause on him. So I’ll bet money they would use it if Vettel fucks up 2020.

Alonso isn’t coming back.
Norris loves F1, so he’s not leaving.
Vettel will never pair with Ricciardo after RB, and probably vice versa for the same reasons.
Th at said......Sainz to Ferrari is interesting and would line up with giving Ric an out from Renault.

Agree with Ricciardo taking Sainz’s spot at McLaren. Question is who replaces him: Vettel, Bottas, Hulk, or maybe one of their juniors (or even someone else?) I think Vettel retires from F1 after this year.

Personally I think Seb walks away. Ricciardo to McLaren makes sense to me as a Sainz replacement. That puts Renault in the spot light, do they sheeplishly go back to Hulk or do they promote their reserve driver?

He won’t sign the 2021 contract, but he might do a couple of one-offs for 2020. He’s pretty chill about that and might even have it in his contract that he has to answer the call-up if Ferrari needs him for some reason like injury or driver illness or something

I think either a junior or maybe Bottas (with Russell moving up to Mercedes). Had Hubert lived I would have said him.

Either promote a reserve driver, or go for someone like Weh rlein or maybe even Fittipaldi?
